Price alerts

A Telegram message when a market reaches your price, so you don’t have to watch the chart.

3 minLesson 2 of 42 questions at the end

Key ideas

  1. 1Set an alert above or below the current price, from the bot or from Lance Trade.
  2. 2When the price gets there, your bot messages you in Telegram.
  3. 3You can keep up to 20 alerts. Each one lasts 30 days, then expires.
  4. 4An alert only tells you. It never places or closes a trade.

How they work

Pick a market and a price above or below where it is now. When the price gets there, your bot messages you in Telegram. Set them from the bot or from the bell in Lance Trade, with quick moves of ±1%, 2%, 5% or 10% a tap away.

  • Up to 20 alerts at a time.
  • Each lasts 30 days, then expires.
  • Delivered in Telegram, wherever you are.

Alerts are not exits

Price alert
  • Tells you
  • You decide what to do
  • Can arrive while you sleep
Take profit or stop loss
  • Acts for you
  • Closes the position at your level
  • Works with everything closed

Good uses

  • A level you want to look at before deciding, like a retest of support.
  • A reminder to check a position as it nears your target.
  • A market you want to enter with a limit order, once it comes closer. Limit orders

Common mistakes

  • Using an alert instead of a stop loss. An alert can arrive while you are asleep; a stop loss acts.
  • Setting alerts so close to the price that they go off from noise.

Lance Learn is education, not advice. Examples use made-up or rounded numbers and say so; nothing here tells you what to trade.

Trading perpetual futures with leverage is high risk. Prices can move fast and you can lose all the money you put in. Lance is software: it does not give investment advice, manage money or trade on anyone’s behalf. Trades are executed on Hyperliquid, a third-party exchange that is not affiliated with Lance. Lance is not available to persons in the United States, the United Kingdom and sanctioned countries.
