Key ideas

  1. 1Lance gives a trading community its own branded bot in Telegram, plus Lance Trade, a web app with charts and an order book.
  2. 2Trades go to Hyperliquid, an on-chain exchange for perpetual futures. Your money stays in your own Hyperliquid account.
  3. 3You approve a trading key once. It can place and close trades for you, and it can never withdraw your funds.
  4. 4Your community’s owner can switch features on or off and set limits for everyone in the community.

How it fits together

Lance is software for trading communities. Each community gets its own bot in Telegram, with its own name, and its members also get Lance Trade, the web app you are in now. Both send orders to Hyperliquid, an on-chain exchange for perpetual futures.

Who holds what
  1. You choose the trade

Use Telegram or the web. Confirm each order, or turn on one-tap trading.

    You control your wallet.

  2. Your bot sends it

Your community’s bot checks the limits and signs the order with your trading key.

    The bot holds no money.

  3. Hyperliquid fills it

Holds your USDC, fills orders, and keeps your take profit and stop loss.

    Only you can withdraw.

Orders go from you, through your community’s bot, to Hyperliquid. Your money never leaves your Hyperliquid account.

You tap Long or Short in Telegram, or use the order panel here. The bot checks the order against your community’s limits and your own, signs it with your trading key and sends it to Hyperliquid, where it fills.

Where your money is

Your USDC sits in your own Hyperliquid account, linked to your own wallet. When you connect, your wallet approves a trading key: a key that can trade for you and nothing else.

It can

  • Open, add to and close positions
  • Place and cancel limit orders
  • Set take profit and stop loss

It can never

  • Withdraw your USDC
  • Send money to anyone
  • Approve anything for your wallet

Your community

Your community’s owner runs the bot you use. From their own dashboard they decide which features members get (following wallets, price alerts, chart comments, share cards, the leaderboard), the highest leverage, and whether only members of their Telegram group can trade. Lance sets the outer limits, like the largest order and the slippage cap.

The owner can also pause new orders for everyone. Closing, take profit, stop loss and cancelling always keep working.

What you can do with Lance

  • Trade perps long or short, with market or limit orders, and size them by amount or by risk. Orders
  • Set a take profit and a stop loss that sit on Hyperliquid, and get told when they fill. Exits
  • Read live charts with indicators and drawing tools. Charts
  • Set your own limits: a daily loss limit, a leverage cap and more. Limits
  • Follow public wallets and copy a trade after reviewing it. Following
  • Price alerts, your own stats, and your community’s leaderboard, where your community has them on. Community

Common mistakes

  • Thinking your money sits with Lance. It stays in your own Hyperliquid account, which you can open on Hyperliquid’s own app at any time.
  • Trusting any bot with a similar name. Only use the bot your community links to, and only approve on connect.lancetrade.xyz.
  • Skipping the basics. Perps with leverage can lose your whole margin fast; read the Perps basics track before your first trade.

Question 1 of 2

Where is your money while you trade with Lance?

Lance Learn is education, not advice. Examples use made-up or rounded numbers and say so; nothing here tells you what to trade.

Trading perpetual futures with leverage is high risk. Prices can move fast and you can lose all the money you put in. Lance is software: it does not give investment advice, manage money or trade on anyone’s behalf. Trades are executed on Hyperliquid, a third-party exchange that is not affiliated with Lance. Lance is not available to persons in the United States, the United Kingdom and sanctioned countries.
